With the consideration of FaZe Clan being a tier 1 eSports team with over 50+ million followers across multiple platforms and ‘Sparg0’, at the time, being the second best player in the world, it was important that the video be as impactful and suspenseful as possible.

In order to do so, we put emphasis on the breadth and importance of FaZe Clan's branding within the eSports world before progressively revealing more of ‘Sparg0’. Only after a highlight from one of Sparg0’s most famous tournament sets is his entire face and body revealed, accompanied by FaZe Clan’s logo transforming into the series logo for Super Smash Bros. The music is edited to provide a moment of silence as the reveal occurs, allowing audiences to solely consider the reality of what they’re seeing.

Further, I believed the best way to generate impact would be to convey the reveal without any text or speech, instead weaponising the reputation that both Sparg0 and FaZe Clan hold within the eSports scene and allowing audiences to connect the dots themselves. This was structured to be alike Super Smash Bros Ultimate’s character reveal trailers, which are similarly visually-focused in how they incorporate reputation when providing information and hints to maximise a surprise’s effect.

Montage was used alongside roll from a shoot to highlight both the intensity of Sparg0's gameplay and the stature he holds as a player. I manipulated Smash Ultimate's camera mode to create cinematic shots to represent Sparg0's gameplay in a way uncommonly seen within Smash Bros eSports, providing the video a dramatic and memorable flair.

Additionally, I did all music selection, mixing and sound design for the project. I chose to utilise an intense, cinematic techno song to interweave FaZe Clan's cybernetic branding with the contextual story of a young prodigy rising to glory. It was very important to me that commentary from famous streamed matches of Sparg0's be featured alongside his gameplay, as it would further highlight how exciting his play is to watch.
