CRESCENDO
A short bumper / announcement for a live in-person video game tournament.
The commissioner's brief was to "create a 10-15 second long video that announces Crescendo, styled after the design for a t-shirt that will be sold at the event, while also providing some of the most important details of the event".
To keep with the style of the t-shirt's design, I made each asset’s linework purposefully imperfect and unrefined, giving the trailer a casual and homely feel in comparison to other events' more commercial feel. This design choice aligns with this in-person event’s branding, which is aimed towards a communal feel rather than a competitive environment, even featuring an in-venue bar.

ADAPTING THE SHIRT
Bard’s shirt design for Crescendo - the reference I was provided for the video’s art direction
A display of the 2D animation rigs and their components functioning together to create the main part of the video’s animation. Visual echoes were added to the legs to emulate a cartoon-ish level of motion.
Smaller parts of the shirt were also adapated to be part of the trailer either as visual gags (left) or to display information (right).
